Connect Pennyweight to Claude
Claude is the smoothest way to use Pennyweight. You add the connector once on the web or desktop, and it syncs to the Claude mobile apps automatically. Custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans (Free is limited to one custom connector).
Claude (web, desktop, mobile)
- Go to Settings → Connectors (also reachable at claude.ai/settings/connectors). On Team and Enterprise plans, only an Owner can add a connector for the organization.
- Click the + button next to Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Pennyweight and paste the URL: . Click Add.
- Click Connect. You’ll bounce to Pennyweight to sign in, complete two-factor, and enter your passphrase — then back to Claude. This is what binds the connector to your account.
- In a chat, enable Pennyweight via the + button on the lower-left of the message box, then Connectors. The mobile apps pick the connector up automatically.
Claude Code (command line)
- Run:
- The first time Pennyweight needs authorization, Claude Code starts the sign-in automatically (you can also trigger it with the /mcp command). Sign in, complete two-factor, enter your passphrase.
First time? Try asking
- “What can you do?” — Pennyweight walks you through its tools.
- “Show me my dining charges last month.”
- “Categorize the Adobe charge as business software.”
If something goes wrong
If the connector fails to authenticate, the fix is almost always to disconnect and reconnect it from Settings → Connectors. See manage & revoke access.
The grant lasts 30 days of active use. Your AI client never holds your keys — it gets an opaque token Pennyweight uses to decrypt your data on-demand, for tool calls only.
