Pennyweight connects to the AI assistant you already use. You add one link to your AI, approve the connection once with your passphrase, and then ask about your money in plain English.

The one link you need

Everyone uses the same server address:

The link doesn't identify you. Your account is attached when you authorize the connection, so each connection only reaches the account that approved it. You can also copy the link from Settings → Connect your AI.

Before you start

Turn on two-factor authentication first. Pennyweight won't authorize an AI connection without it. See Turn on two-factor authentication.

How connecting works

Add the link above as a custom connector in your AI. The guides below show where that setting is in each app.
Start the connection from your AI. A Pennyweight page opens in your browser.
Sign in to Pennyweight if you aren't already.
Check the account email shown on the page, enter your passphrase, and select Authorize.
Pennyweight sends you back to your AI, which can now use your data.

Pick your assistant

Each guide has the current steps for that app.

Pennyweight finishes the connection only by sending you back to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok, or to an address on your own computer, which some desktop and command-line tools use. Other hosted AI apps are refused on the authorize page.

What your AI can do once connected

Find transactions and show your accounts and balances.
Change categories, split charges and link transfers. Each change to a transaction needs a reason, and the change is logged.
Run reports such as spending breakdowns, cash flow and net worth.

What it can't do

Move money. Pennyweight's bank connection asks your bank for transactions and, with your consent, card, loan and investment details. It doesn't request payment or transfer access.
See your passphrase. Your AI gets a token, not your passphrase or your encryption keys. While the connection is active, Pennyweight's server uses that token to decrypt the data your AI asks for.

Managing access

Each authorization creates its own connection. Settings → Connect your AI lists every connected AI client, and you can revoke any of them there at any time. For removing Pennyweight from each AI app as well, see Manage and revoke AI access.

Good to know

The connection lasts 30 days of active use. Each time your AI uses Pennyweight, the 30 days start again. After 30 days without use, you authorize again.
Why your passphrase every time. Your passphrase unlocks your encrypted data for that connection, so each new authorization asks for it.
Authorize from the account you mean. If you have more than one Pennyweight account, the authorize page shows which one you're signed in to.
