See APR, credit limit and payment due dates
On this page
When a credit card is linked to your bank, your AI can tell you its credit limit, APR, next due date and statement balance. Linked mortgages and student loans get their own details, such as the interest rate and next payment. These come straight from your bank through Plaid. If you haven't linked one yet, start with connect a US bank or card.
How to do it
- Link the card or loan's bank, if it isn't linked already.
- For APRs, due dates and statement balances, turn on Card & loan details for that bank in the web app, in Settings → Accounts. See turn on card, investment and recurring details. The credit limit doesn't need it.
- Ask your AI about the account by name, such as "What's the APR on my Visa?" or "When is my card payment due?"
When is my Rewards Card payment due?
What's the APR on my Rewards Card?
What you'll see
For a linked card, your AI answers with the details your bank reports. With Card & loan details on, that includes:
- the purchase, cash advance, balance transfer and penalty APRs;
- the minimum payment and the next payment due date;
- the last statement balance and statement date;
- the last payment and its date, and whether a payment is overdue.
Every linked account also carries an available balance and, for a card, the credit limit, when the bank reports them.
For a mortgage, the details include the interest rate, the next payment, the escrow balance and the maturity date. For a student loan, they include the interest rate, the repayment plan and the expected payoff date.
When Card & loan details is off for a linked card or loan, Pennyweight gives your AI a link to the switch in Settings. When the bank was asked for a detail but reports none, Pennyweight tells your AI that too, along with what it usually means.
For an account you added yourself, there are no bank details. Your AI says it has no due date or APR for that account.
Where else to find them
In the web app, open the account from Settings → Accounts. A From your bank card lists the same details, each with an as-of date when one is known. A detail the bank was asked for but didn't provide shows as Not reported.
Good to know
- Linked accounts only. These details come from your bank through Plaid, so a card or loan you track manually has none. Bank linking works for US banks only.
- Snapshots, not live. The details update when Pennyweight syncs with your bank, so a due date or statement balance reflects the last sync.
- They don't change your balance. These details add context. Your account balance and totals stay the same.
- Which accounts qualify. Card & loan details covers credit cards, PayPal credit, mortgages and student loans. Other loans, such as an auto loan, get no loan details from it.
- Turning it on is one-way. Once it's on, the switch reads "Billed monthly by Plaid; removed only by disconnecting the bank." See disconnect a bank vs delete an account.
- Two-factor required. Turning on Card & loan details needs two-factor authentication.
- Investments. For brokerage holdings and gains, see view investment holdings and gains.
