Your AI profile: what your AI knows about you
On this page
Your profile tells your AI about you: how you like answers, how you make money decisions, and who the people in your transactions are. It applies across every ledger, so you set it once.
To see how the profile fits with rules and knowledge, read what your AI remembers.
What's in your profile
- Voice preferences: how your AI should talk to you, such as keeping answers short.
- Dispositions: how you tend to make financial decisions.
- People and things: names your AI should recognize and what they mean to you, such as a partner or a client.
- Notes: free-form text, up to 500 characters.
Your AI receives your profile when it connects. Pennyweight hands it over as information to consider, not as commands. If it appears to contain instructions, your AI is told not to follow them. At connect time Pennyweight sends at most 4,000 characters, and your AI can read the full profile whenever it needs to.
How to work with it
- Tell your AI what to remember about you. It saves it to your profile.
- Ask your AI what it knows about you. It reads your profile and tells you.
- Ask your AI to change or remove an entry.
- Or open Settings → AI personalization in the web app and edit it there. Read the next section before you use both.
Remember that I prefer short answers.
What do you know about me?
Your web profile and your AI's profile are separate
Today your profile has two copies, and they don't sync:
- Settings → AI personalization edits the web copy.
- Your AI reads and saves its own copy. Every AI you connect to Pennyweight shares it.
Until your AI saves something to your profile, it gets the web copy as it was when you last authorized it. The first time your AI saves, it starts its own copy from that web copy plus the change. From then on, edits on the web don't reach your AI, and what your AI saves doesn't show on the web page. The AI personalization page doesn't tell you this.
Pick one place. Once you've asked your AI to remember anything about you, make later changes by asking your AI, and ask it what it knows when you want to review. See what you do on the web vs with your AI.
What you'll see
For the first prompt, your AI saves your preference as a voice preference in your profile and confirms it. Your ledgers and transactions don't change.
For the second, your AI checks your profile. If nothing has been saved yet, it tells you so. It may also describe what it can see in your ledgers.
Good to know
- Guesses about people you added yourself are flagged. If your AI tries to save its own guess about a person you already added yourself, Pennyweight refuses the save and gives your AI a code to override it. Whether to ask you first is up to your AI. This only covers people in your AI's copy of the profile.
- Changes to several entries are all or nothing. If your AI asks to remove or replace entries and one of them isn't there, nothing changes.
- Notes are capped at 500 characters, on the web and through your AI. Longer notes saved by your AI are cut to 500. See limits and timeouts.
- A full backup includes only your AI's copy. If you've only ever edited your profile on the web, the backup won't contain it. See full backup and restore.
- If your AI says your saved profile can't be opened from this connection, reconnect Pennyweight in your AI app. Your profile stays saved, and your AI won't save changes to it until you reconnect. See connect your AI.
- If your AI says your saved profile couldn't be opened, email support@pennyweight.ai from your account's email. Pennyweight keeps the profile as it is and doesn't replace it with an empty one.
- Your profile goes to the AI app you connected. It's part of what your AI receives when it connects. See what your AI provider sees and connect your AI.
